Nice. Progressive art is a great gift idea. Thanks for the tip, Changeseeker, though we'll see if my nieces and nephews are thanking you next month!
For me, the key word in that quote is "forces". Not "persuades" or "shames into", but "forces". Because that's how it's gotta happen.

Kai: Maybe the thing to do would be to give 'em something they already know they want and then tack on a piece of progressive art, as well. Who knows? They may learn to love it. And in the meantime, they won't be disappointed. My extended family is o-bli-vi-ous to anything you don't serve on a table or watch on Fox News. Sigh.
