Since this is the day (in 1968) that Martin Luther King, Jr., was murdered, I'd like to offer one of his lesser used quotes:
"If physical death is the price that I must pay to free my White brothers and sisters from a permanent death of the spirit, then nothing can be more redemptive."
No one has ever come close to Martin when it comes to human rights. They will still talk about him 1000 years from now.
ReplyDeleteI have known a few white capitalists and that is too many. But most will bring up MLK as a personal hero.
ReplyDeleteAll in all though they are hypocritical bigots in that process, as they in the same thread denounce any black person today trying to carry on the work of Martin.
This bigoted nypocrisy drives me nuts.
Wonderful quote.
ReplyDeleteMary: I'm afraid I'm personally partial to Malcolm X, but Martin could turn a phrase, too, no doubt about it. And yes, I think they'll both be around forever.
ReplyDeleteTopper: That's why I chose the quote I chose. I agree with you absolutely.
Maria: Thanks. Are you new to mi casa?
